On-line Guide Salutes Companies Commitment to the Environment

Village Farms is pleased to announce a brand new product guide with a distinctive environment friendly feature. Presenting the Hydroperfect® tomato varieties such as; Sinfully Sweet CampariTM, Baby Beefs®, Mini Sensations®, and Hydrobites™ grape tomatoes, the guide is now available on the website. The product guide showcases Village Farms’ full line of tomato, pepper, and cucumber varieties in an easy to use format. Product descriptions, along with nutritional facts, and product specifications are all visibly outlined within the environmentally friendly on-line guide.

Village Farms’ product guide was created with the direct intention of giving customers the information they need to make purchasing decisions but also has the added benefit of being ‘green’. ‘The industry as a whole is much more focused on environmental impacts. Many of our customers currently have programs in place to reduce waste and by doing so have a clear commitment to sustainability’, says Bret Wiley, Vice President of Sales at Village Farms. ‘By viewing the guide on-line we can all do our part to reduce our paper consumption and ultimately help reduce our carbon footprint’, added Wiley.

Environmental stewardships values are paramount at Village Farms. Openly conveyed in the welcome letter of the product guide and according to CEO, Mike DeGiglio, Village Farms is a sustainability innovator and leader in the areas of water efficiency, land resource preservation, integrated pest management, and reducing our carbon footprint. Food Safety standards are also primary at Village Farms, which is why we work hard to achieve and maintain the highest documented Primus Food Safety scores in the industry today.
